Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated eleventh album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” is just a few weeks away from its release. The pop icon is graciously reminding her devoted fans, the Swifties, to preorder the album using her lucky number.
On Instagram, Taylor shared a captivating video of a typewriter typing out the message: “13 days until THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT.” Alongside this intriguing teaser, she included a link for fans to secure their preorder.
In a strategic move to capitalize on the Taylor Swift frenzy, SiriusXM has launched a dedicated channel named “Channel 13”—an homage to Taylor’s cherished lucky number.
The network’s statement revealed that “The 13th day of the channel, Friday, April 19, coincides with the release of Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department.”
“Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version) will be playing the full album beginning to end continuously throughout the weekend.”
Taylor explained the reason behind her luck with the number in a previous interview with Jay Leno.
“I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. Also, my first song that ever went Number One, it had a 13-second intro, and I didn’t do it on purpose,” TayTay told the host in 2009.
However, Taylor is putting a lot of effort into marketing her upcoming album.
“I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19,” TayTay revealed at the Grammy Awards.
“It’s called The Tortured Poets Department. I’m gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you.”
