Here’s the truth straight from Usher himself.

Usher has shed some light on his previous comments about being a “babysitter” for Beyoncé before she rose to fame.

He shared with Shannon Sharpe on “Club Shay Shay” that “Daryl Simmons had a group called The Dolls. They came to Atlanta for the first time, even before Destiny’s Child was known as Destiny’s Child.”

He added, “I think I looked over them while they [were] doing something in the house; I had to watch over ’cause I was like the, you know, the authority ’cause I guess I was the teenager at the time.”

Usher, the artist behind “Love in This Club,” clarified that he wasn’t exactly a “nanny” for Beyoncé and her bandmates. He was there to ensure they didn’t get into any trouble while at home.

When questioned if he foresaw Beyoncé’s rise to stardom, Usher acknowledged that “she had a talent and also to a brilliance and a brightness that was much different.

He expressed his admiration for her success, saying, “[It’s] really great for my sister, to see that she’s done so amazing and continue to thrive and just get bigger and better,” he gushed.

“Whether it’s musically or in her life or creativity, all of it, man.” he said.

Last summer, Usher, now 45, initially shared that he had supervised the “Cuff It” singer, now 42, during their younger years.
