Taylor Swift may or may not be present at the upcoming playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills to support her boyfriend, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. However, she will be represented in a unique way.
The caterer for the Buffalo Bills’ stadium has created two special appetizers named after Swift’s songs for the game. Fans can choose from the “Karma” Quesadilla, a three-layer quesadilla filled with chicken tenders, bacon, cilantro ranch, and topped with pork belly, or the “Bad Blood” Waffle Fries, spiced waffle fries topped with Kansas City Cattleman’s BBQ pork, coleslaw, bread-and-butter pickles, Buffalo chicken, and blue cheese.
Andy Altomare, the general manager of Delaware North at Highmark Stadium, expressed his excitement about the new menu items, which were added to celebrate the intense rivalry between the Chiefs and their celebrity fans.
Swift, who was named TIME’s Person of the Year in 2023 for her significant influence, has been dating Kelce since last year. Her influence, where her large and dedicated fan base follows her lead in purchases, has boosted the popularity and profitability of football.
On the same day that Swift was seen watching one of Kelce’s games in September, sales of his jersey online surged by nearly 400%, according to the NFL’s merchandise company. Now, each Chiefs game sparks speculation about whether Swift will be present, encouraging Swift’s fans to buy tickets in hopes of seeing her.
The NFL has seemingly capitalized on this interest, sharing clips of Swift at games on social media, which have garnered millions of views.
Swift’s presence has sometimes sparked debate among football fans. After losses by the Chiefs, some critics have claimed that Swift is distracting Kelce from the season, but other commentators have defended her.
