Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ album may give a brutal nod to Alvin Group Chat.

Taylor Swift fans believe the title of her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” is a cheeky nod to a group chat her ex Joe Alvin shared with friends Paul Mescale and Andrew Scott.

“JOES GROUPCHAT [sic] W PAUL WAS CALLED THE TORTURED MENS CLUB,” One Swiftie tweeted via X, right after Swift, 34, revealed her new album at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday night.

Another said, “apparently, joe and paul mescal’s whatsapp gc was called ‘the tortured mens club’ LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO.”

A third fan was excited about Swift possibly revealing details about her relationship with Alwyn.

“I’m actually so obsessed with the concept of this album already,” the fan said. “’All’s fair in love and poetry’ is giving ‘you treated me the way you did and it’s fair game for me to write about it.’”

Swift also said in her speech for winning best pop vocal album for “Midnights” that she had been hiding her new album for two years — which is the same time she was dating Alwyn.

Alwyn, 32, and Mescal, 28, told Variety in 2022 that they were in a group chat for guys only called “The Tortured Man Club,” started by Scott, 47.

“[Scott is] just on it every day. He’s just on it by himself,” Mescal said then, and Alwyn joked, “Just messaging himself good mornings.”

Alwyn also talked about “The Tortured Man Club” in an interview with GQ UK, explaining that the name “is, I guess, a reflection on Connell and Nick,” the role he played in the film “Conversations with Friends.”

The singer of “Bad Blood” broke up with the British actor in 2023 after dating for six years.

The new album “The Tortured Poets Department” might suggest otherwise, a source previously told Page Six, “that the former couple’s breakup wasn’t dramatic.”

The source also said, “[The relationship] just ran its course.”

Alwyn hasn’t been seen with anyone else, but Swift has a new boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce — who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs — and they made it official in September 2023.

“The Tortured Poets Department” will be release on April 19.
