Taylor Swift graced the spotlight during her final performance of the three-consecutive Eras Tour shows in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday.

During her performance, the 34-year-old singer delighted the packed audience with an unexpected blend of two of her hit songs. She seamlessly merged “Come Back…Be Here” from her Red album with “Daylight” from Lover. As the bridge of the latter song unexpectedly emerged, a chorus of 96,000 voices erupted in unison, filling the air with excitement and surprise.

The mashup inside Melbourne Cricket Ground, Taylor Swift treated the audience to a delightful surprise. As part of the “surprise songs” segment in her three-hour setlist, the 14-time Grammy winner personally selected two songs that weren’t originally planned for the show. She played one on the piano and another on the guitar, creating an unforgettable musical experience for the crowd.

Indeed, it’s quite unusual for Taylor Swift to present a mashup like the one she did for the Sunday audience.

This was the second night in a row that the “Mastermind” singer gave Swifties a mashup, which is unusual. Swift, armed with a guitar, blended “Getaway Car,” “August,” and “The Other Side of the Door” on Saturday.

The Melbourne crowd, the largest she has ever performed for in her 18-year career, witnessed this remarkable musical feat, and Taylor Swift graciously recognized this significant milestone.

At the Sunday performance, Taylor Swift expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the 288,000 fans who attended the Eras Tour between February 16th and 18th.

“96,000 people the first night, 96,000 people the second night, 96,000 people tonight,” Taylor said onstage. “Those are all the biggest shows I’ve ever played on a tour — and you did it three times. The math is that it’s 288,000 people in three nights.”

“Melbourne, you are the love of my life. I cannot believe you, what have you done?” Swift added. “It’s just incredibly nice to do for someone [to] make them feel welcome like that.”

Taylor Swift took to Instagram to express her heartfelt gratitude. “Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last 3 nights??! That was unforgettable. You were on an another LEVEL .Thank you for the memories,” Swift wrote. “I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often.”

The captivating Eras Tour marches on, now heading to Sydney’s Accor Stadium from February 23rd to 26th.
