Cori Broadus, the 24-year-old daughter of Snoop Dogg, recently shared a distressing health scare on social media.

“I had a severe stroke this a.m. I started breaking down crying when they told me,”, she wrote on her Instagram story, accompanied by a picture that seemed to be taken from a hospital bed.

“Like I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all this,” Broadus added,. She is the daughter of Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., and Shante Broadus. The couple, both aged 52, have been married since 1997 and have three children: Cori, Corde (29), and Cordell Broadus (26). Snoop Dogg also has another son, Julian (25), from a different relationship with Laurie Holmond.

As of Thursday afternoon, Cori did not provide any additional information, leaving her condition uncertain. The exact cause of her medical emergency remains unknown. However, it’s worth noting that strokes have been increasingly reported among young individuals in recent years, with 10 to 15% of strokes occurring in this age group.

According to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine in August 2023, “The risk factors for stroke in young adults are largely similar to those for stroke in the general population, which are traditional factors including hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, diabetes mellitus, smoking and heart disease”.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, also battles lupus, an autoimmune condition where the immune system, which usually fights off infections, attacks the body’s own tissues. Symptoms can include fever, joint pain, stiffness, swelling, a butterfly-shaped rash often seen on the cheeks and bridge of the nose, skin lesions, and chest pain, as per the Mayo Clinic.

Diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6, Cori opened up about her struggle with the condition in September 2023. She revealed that her health issues have led to significant lifestyle changes.

She shared with People magazine, “I’ve been good, better than I’ve ever been.” She disclosed that she has adopted an “all natural” approach to her health, turning to a more holistic lifestyle amidst various challenges, including a suicide attempt in 2021. Having been on medication for most of her life, Cori expressed hope that this change would yield a positive reaction from her body.

She said, “I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body’s like, OK, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.”
