Following the tragic parade shooting, Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, visited a local hospital to lift the spirits of wounded children. Specifically, they went to the rooms of an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old who were both shot during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration. The girls, part of the Reyes family, had been hit in the legs and required surgery.

When Patrick and Brittany arrived, the joy on the little ones’ faces was evident. They posed for pictures with big grins, and the couple even brought gifts—miniature Chiefs helmets—for the girls.

The Reyes family, who are reportedly related to the woman tragically lost in the shooting, expressed their gratitude. In a statement, “We want to give a personal thank you to the staff of Children’s Mercy Hospital and Patrick & Brittany Mahomes for their outpouring care, love, and support.”

A GoFundMe campaign has already raised $54,000 to aid the girls and their family in their recovery.

The shooting occurred just after Mahomes delivered a speech at the rally, with 23 people being struck by bullets. Authorities revealed that at least half of the victims were under 16 years old.

While two juveniles have already faced criminal charges in connection with the incident, officials suggest that more charges may follow.
