Mohamed Salah scored twice, Liverpool maintained their 100% record at Anfield this season, securing a victory against Brentford and moving to the second position in the Premier League.
Salah started the scoring just before the break, finishing with a Mark Flekken assist after a pass from Darwin Nunez. This marked Salah’s ninth Premier League goal of the season, and his 10th goal came between the halves when he headed in a cross from Kostas Tsimikas.
Salah, truly exceptional on home turf, should have had a hat-trick just before halftime with a spectacular volley from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brilliant cross.
Then, Diogo Jota demonstrated another impressive home performance with a fantastic strike.
The best chance for Brentford came in the first half when Bryan Mbeumo made a run towards the goal, but his chipped attempt was unsuccessful, cleared off the line by Alexander-Arnold.
With this win, Liverpool has 27 points and is ahead of Arsenal on goal difference, while Brentford sits in the 10th position
