With his football season over, Jason Kelce is now stepping into the role of a supportive older brother. The 36-year-old center for the Philadelphia Eagles is planning to attend the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday to cheer on his younger brother, Travis Kelce, according to a source close to the Chiefs.
Jason won’t be braving the freezing temperatures of Highmark Stadium alone, as his wife, Kylie Kelce, will also be there. Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, is also expected to be present at the Bills-Chiefs game.
Jason hinted at his attendance at the upcoming game after the Eagles’ season ended last week with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their wild-card playoff game. When asked if he would be at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, Jason responded that one of the beautiful things about the off-season is that it’s unscheduled. He added that he might get a chance to watch one of his brother’s games this week since he doesn’t often get to see him play.
Since the Eagles’ exit from the playoffs, there have been rumors and reports about Jason’s retirement from the NFL. However, during a press conference on Friday, Travis “It came out that he retired, and he really didn’t say any of that.”
“The end of [the Buccaneers-Eagles game], I think everybody kind of felt for him, knowing that he has been thinking about it a lot over the past couple of years. The documentary shows that. You don’t need to go around and ask anybody,” He added.
In the most recent episode of their New Heights podcast, Jason stated that he wasn’t trying to be dramatic about his decision. He added that if he does decide to retire, fans can expect to hear the news directly from him.
“I think when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it will be done in a way that will be definitive, with respect to individuals who have meant a lot for me and what has led to the career I’ve had,” he said.
One of the most memorable moments for Jason and Travis was when they competed against each other for the championship in Super Bowl LVII last year, with the Chiefs taking home the title. Their mother, Donna Kelce, recently shared that watching her sons become stars since their face-off in the February 2023 matchup “It’s been really surreal and it’s been a fun ride to be on,”.
