Innocence Project has taken over the case of Wife-killer Scott Peterson: report

Scott Peterson, who was found guilty of murdering his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, in 2004, has had his case taken up by The Los Angeles Innocence Project, as reported by ABC News.

Initially, Peterson was sentenced to death, but this verdict was later overturned, leading to a life imprisonment sentence instead.

The Innocence Project, an organization dedicated to freeing the unjustly convicted, is now looking for fresh evidence from Peterson’s initial trial, according to ABC.

Despite pleading not guilty, Peterson has consistently asserted his innocence, arguing that his trial was biased due to misconduct by the jury. His legal team has previously alleged that a juror, referred to as “Juror 7”, failed to reveal her participation in other legal proceedings.
