After just three days in theaters, “Godzilla x Kong“: “The New Empire” has stomped its way to become the third-highest-grossing movie of the year. The colossal clash between the iconic monsters has raked in a whopping $194 million worldwide during its opening weekend. This impressive figure places it behind only two other blockbusters: Dune: Part Two (which amassed $626 million after five weeks of release) and “Kung Fu Panda 4” (with a hefty $347 million after four weeks on the big screen).

The film’s global success was fueled by a strong international debut, pulling in $114 million from 64 markets. But the monster magic didn’t stop there—North America also witnessed a colossal showdown, contributing an impressive $80 million to the film’s box office haul. Among the standout performances, China led the charge with $44 million, followed by Mexico with $12.8 million, and India with $5.5 million.

Filmmaker Adam Wingard, known for his work on “Godzilla x Kong“ once again takes the director’s chair for “The New Empire.” The star-studded cast includes Rebecca HallBrian Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens. Unlike previous installments that pitted the colossal creatures against each other, this film takes a different approach. Here, Kong and Godzilla join forces to thwart a mysterious threat that threatens to annihilate our planet. With a hefty production budget of $135 million, the film’s global box office success will be crucial in justifying its monumental price tag.

“Godzilla x Kong“ has truly roared its way into the hearts of audiences worldwide, proving that when giant creatures collide, box office records are shattered!
