Lana Del Rey, the 38-year-old singer known for her hit “Say Yes to Heaven”, has now joined the SKIMS family.
She was unveiled on Thursday as the latest ambassador for Kim Kardashian’s brand, specifically for its Valentine’s Day collection, which will be available from Jan. 23 with prices ranging from $16 to $124.
In a press statement, Del Rey expressed her excitement about being part of the SKIMS Valentine’s campaign, stating, “I’ve been a big fan of SKIMS since the beginning, so being featured in their Valentine’s campaign is so exciting, Their collection is so pretty and dreamy, which made collaborating with [photographer] Nadia Lee Cohen on the creative so fun. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
The sultry advertisement embraces the classic Hollywood and retro Americana style that the 11-time Grammy nominee, Del Rey, is renowned for.
In SKIMS’ Valentine’s Day lingerie, Del Rey showcases some of her most alluring outfits, perfect for the most romantic season of the year.
One of the photos features her in a baby blue lace bodysuit with cutouts, paired with gloves and bow barrettes, adding an extra touch of flirtatious charm. She is pictured sitting inside a velvet, heart-shaped chocolate box, large enough to accommodate both Del Rey and her dynamic presence.
If lingerie were to become an official part of bridal wear, Del Rey would be an ideal representative, given her striking “Gothic Bride” look complete with a black slip and matching lace veil.
Judging by the photoshoot, SKIMS’ Valentine’s Day collection will include comfortable sleepwear, such as the heart-patterned pajamas sported by Del Rey.
According to the press release, “The SKIMS Valentine’s Shop expands its offering to over 29 limited-edition collections of intimates, sleep sets, loungewear and more, with a style for every body,”
Del Rey, an acclaimed artist, is the latest addition to a growing roster of musicians, models, actors, and even Kardashian’s own sisters who have collaborated with the brand.
In the previous year, 43-year-old Kardashian enlisted actors and real-life best friends Beatrice Grannò and Simona Tabasco from ‘White Lotus’ as her inspirations. In 2021, she brought in her sisters, Kendall Jenner, 28, and Kylie Jenner, 26, for a fiery photoshoot that made the trio look like triplets.
Kardashian’s reality TV fame and fashion business have truly known no bounds. Last fall, her brand became the official underwear sponsor for both the NBA and WNBA. Moreover, the brand’s celebrity roster has expanded to include stars such as Nelly Furtado, Cardi B, Kim Cattrall, and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
