Meghan Markle could lose her royal title as a result of starting her own company, an expert claims.

American Riviera Orchard is a new lifestyle brand founded by the Duchess of Sussex. While not much is known about the business, American Riviera Orchard’s Instagram page says it is owned by “Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”

Meghan is undoubtedly excited about her new project, but royal author Tom Quinn warns that by taking advantage of her royal family connections, she is “treading a very dangerous path” and could lose her title. Meghan and Prince Harry have pledged not to exploit their royal status for financial gain when they step down as senior royals in 2020.

“Meghan is treading a very dangerous path by setting up a new commercial project – each time she ramps up the commercial side of her life in the States, she risks losing her Royal title,” Tom said in an exclusive interview with The Mirror.

“For now, the senior royals in the UK are watching and waiting – they don’t want to act too precipitately in case they are accused of being vindictive. But when things calm down, a decision will be taken that Meghan may not like.”

The royal experts added that Meghan was no longer trusted by the Royal Family. He told to the outlet that, “There is a deep distrust in the Royal Family of using family connections and royal titles to make money.

“It is seen as a potential threat to the very existence of the monarchy and threats like this always bring out the ruthless side of the ‘the Firm’.” When Meghan and Harry stepped back from their roles as senior members of the royal family, strict rules were put in place for them to follow.

Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down was announced at the time by the Palace, which stated that “everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.”
