Ex-LAPD Officers Don’t Believe Sharon Stone’s O.J. Simpson Story

Sharon Stone says that during the O.J. Simpson chase, LAPD officers arrived to her house and took her away, but officers who were on the force at the time don’t recall anything like that.

David Gascon, a former commander of the LAPD’s Media Relations division during the O.J. era, tells TMZ that he has never heard of police arriving at Sharon’s crib on June 17, 1994, when officers were pursuing Simpson during that historic, widely publicized low-speed pursuit.

Not only is Gascon personally unaware of it happening , but he claims that prior to Sharon’s discussion of it this past week, he had never heard of any reports of her involvement.

Similarly, Tom Lange, the top LAPD investigator working the O.J. case, tells TMZ he hasn’t heard a word concerning Sharon’s allegation that she was escorted to a motel by police for her own safety. Lange actually poses the obvious question: why, at that particular moment, would O.J. pursue Sharon?

Lange maintains he would have heard about Sharon’s Simpson saga if it had actually happened. Regarding Sharon’s method of telling it, he believes it may be related to the June 30th anniversary.

Not to mention, TMZ spoke with a retired LAPD officer who was assigned to the South L.A. division in 1994; he too informed us that he was unaware of any relationship between Sharon and O.J.

This retired officer wonders how or why O.J. would have gone to Sharon’s house at the time, given that he was being pursued by 20 patrol cars on the interstate.

According to Sharon’s account in the recent interview, the publicity she received from her 1992 “Basic Instinct” appearance reportedly prompted several police officers to her home in order to hide her in a hotel. Nevertheless, as many others have pointed out, she didn’t seem to be connected to O.J. at the time.

Sharon previously talked about how chaotic the 1990s were for her, as her then-viral movie catapulted her to A-list fame and established her as a legitimate sex symbol.

Once more, the fact that these former officers are skeptical of Sharon’s account does not imply that what she is claiming did not happen; rather, it was never a concern of theirs.

I mean, besides O.J. himself, I guess there’s nobody else to weigh in at this point. Just joking.
