Ross Duffer, the creator of the popular show “Stranger Things,” is facing a significant change in his personal life. His wife, who works as a movie director, has decided to end their marriage by filing for divorce.

Leigh Janiak, the spouse of a Hollywood producer who works as a writer and director, filed for divorce from her husband on Friday after nine years of marriage, according to recently released court documents that obtained by TMZ.

According to legal documents, Leigh, the wife of “Stranger Things” creator Ross Duffer, has cited the common reason of “irreconcilable differences” for their divorce.

Ross and Leigh, both known for their work in the horror genre with projects like “Honeymoon” and “The Fear Street Trilogy,” got married in January 2015.

Their relationship began back in 2006 when they met at a Los Angeles production company—Leigh worked as an assistant to the producer, while Ross was an intern.

Now, they are parting ways, and the exact date of their separation is yet to be determined.

Fortunately, there won’t be any child custody or child support issues since they didn’t have any kids. However, Leigh is requesting spousal support.

Ross and his twin brother, Matt Duffer, are well-known for their work in the horror genre. Besides “Stranger Things,” they also wrote and directed the 2015 horror film “Hidden.”

Now, as their marriage comes to an end, they are navigating this new chapter in their lives.
